Minimum Qualifications:
Scholarly Academic per AACSB accreditation standards, which includes a doctorate in information systems or a closely related field from a nationally or internationally accredited university
Demonstrated excellent research potential based on the quality of research and the ability to publish in top tier journals, such as a current research pipeline, including advanced-round submissions to, or revisions for, top journals
Demonstrated excellent teaching potential, such as course/teacher evaluations for courses taught or evidence of excellent performance as a teaching assistant
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching and research in the areas of blockchain and digital identities
Demonstrated ability with funded research
Demonstrated ability with mentoring PhD students/post-docs
Demonstrated ability with managing project teams

The Information Systems Department: The department has twelve tenured or tenure-track faculty members (including four professors who hold positions with endowments and three distinguished professors), in addition to nine teaching/clinical faculty members, five full-time instructors, several part-time instructors, and an ongoing search for another senior (full or associate professor) tenure-track position. The department was ranked in the top 6 departments in the world for the 5-years (2020-2024) on AIS elite 8. Faculty research interests are diverse and include behavioral research (management, adoption, use, and impacts of technology and digitalization at individual, organizational, or societal levels) and economics-oriented research (financial impacts of IT, usually based on extensive panel data). Additionally, the departmental faculty is one of the only in the world to include two AIS LEO award winners, an IEEE Fellow, and four AIS Fellows, and faculty have received numerous other accolades from major professional societies. The department ranked 14th among Public Institutions on U.S. News & World Report 2024 "Best Undergraduate Business Programs" in Management Information Systems.
The Information Systems Department has an active research-oriented Ph.D. program, a Master of Information Systems program, Master of Applied Business Analytics program, Master of Healthcare Business Analytics program, Graduate Certificates, and a BSBA major in Information Systems. Our faculty teach courses in enterprise resource planning (ERP), blockchain, database, business analytics, cybersecurity, digital innovation, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
The department has a world-class Enterprise Systems program that gives our students experience with industrial-strength technology systems and enterprise-level databases, thanks to more than $200 Million in gifts from our technology platform partners including Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, IBM, Microsoft, SAP and Teradata. Enterprise Systems also hosts a number of databases including Acxiom, Dillard’s, Nielsen, Tyson Foods and Sam’s Club and receives support from prominent companies such as ConocoPhillips, J. B. Hunt Transport, SAS, Tyson Foods and Walmart.
The Sam M. Walton College of Business: The Walton College has over 10,000 students. The Walton College has an innovative cross-functional business core program that focuses on business processes, and several new cross-disciplinary minors and concentrations.
