Laboratory Technical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technical Specialist to oversee Chemistry/Immunoassay testing. Reporting to the Laboratory Medical Director and Manager, this role ensures compliance with CLIA and CAP standards through expert supervision of lab operations, quality control, instrument validation, and staff competency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical operations and ensure test accuracy, precision, and reliability

• Develop and maintain procedures, quality programs, and performance standards

• Troubleshoot systems and coordinate with vendors for support and documentation

• Oversee training, competency assessments, and continuing education for lab staff

• Collaborate on LIS/EMR test validation and support provider inquiries

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical lab science or medical technology

• Minimum 4 years of experience in high-complexity testing

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

• Deep understanding of CLIA standards and laboratory best practices

PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked.  Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
