About the position

The Princeton Review (TPR) is seeking a strategic, user-obsessed Senior Product Manager who can drive significant portions of our product strategy, lead complex cross-functional initiatives, and elevate the learning experience for millions of students. This role requires a seasoned product manager who combines deep discovery and analytical rigor with strong execution, and who can translate vision into measurable impact in a fast-moving, agile environment.

You will shape major components of the future test prep platform as we re-invent the experience, own high-stakes product decisions, and partner closely with design, engineering, curriculum, and operations to deliver innovative learning experiences that meaningfully improve learner outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Product Discovery & User Empathy
  • Deeply understand our users: Through continuous discovery, rigorous analysis of data and insights, and a strong grasp of market and competitive dynamics, develop an expert-level understanding of our learners and their pain points.
  • Employ problem-first thinking: Lead with a clear definition of the problem before considering solutions. Use qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover root causes of user pain, validate assumptions, and ensure proposed features address the underlying need.
  • Champion customer needs: Through continuous, extensive direct customer engagement and market research, develop an evidence-based view of user pain points, behaviors, and use cases that shape long-term product direction and inform major product investments.
  • Product Strategy
  • Understand & influence strategy: Collaborate closely with the Director of Product to understand and in some places, inform the overarching product strategy.
  • Translate product strategy into action: Transform strategic direction into clear, actionable plans by defining priorities, shaping initiatives, and aligning cross-functional teams.
  • Experimentation & Innovation
  • Conduct meaningful experiments: Design and run strategic experiments to validate direction, pressure-test assumptions, and guide the organization toward high-impact solutions.
  • Leverage AI to drive innovation: Identify, evaluate, and incorporate AI capabilities that meaningfully enhance the platform’s adaptability, personalization, and effectiveness, ensuring TPR remains competitive and future-focused.
  • Iterate toward impact: Guide ongoing cycles of prototyping, user testing, and incremental releases, ensuring each iteration delivers meaningful value and contributes to long-term product quality.
  • Execution & Delivery
  • Deliver roadmaps: Lead a cross-functional development team to deliver on a roadmap that reflects strategic priorities, balances iteration with innovation, and drives measurable value for learners and the business.
  • Build agilely: Partner closely with engineering and design to plan and execute iterative development cycles grounded in agile methodologies, ensuring clarity of goals, efficient collaboration, and rapid learning.
  • Use engagement tactics intentionally: Strong working knowledge of product engagement tactics such as gamification, behavioral design, motivation systems, and progression mechanics. Ability to evaluate when and how to apply them to drive meaningful learner value.
  • Organizational Influence
  • Manage projects cross-functionally: Rally cross-functional teams around shared goals and timelines. Serve as the “quarterback” who drives alignment, anticipates challenges, defines cross-functional milestones, and makes sure they are met across engineering, QA, content operations, marketing, and other functions as necessary.
  • Drive clarity across the organization: Communicate product strategy, decisions, progress, and user value clearly and compellingly to stakeholders across sales, marketing, customer success, and leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Who you are

  • Degree: BA required, MA is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of product management experience delivering digital products in fast-paced environments, with a demonstrated ability to translate broad strategy into actionable product plans and lead cross-functional teams through complex initiatives.
  • Execution: Proven track record of shipping successful products, whether 0-1 launches or meaningful iterations on mature products, through strong partnership with engineering, design, and other stakeholders.
  • Innovation and AI: Experience launching AI-enabled features or products, with a perspective on where AI is most impactful at solving user problems.
  • Discovery and experimentation: Strong expertise in customer discovery and experimentation. Skilled at forming hypotheses, validating assumptions, and using evidence to guide decision-making.
  • Data fluency: Analytical mindset with comfort using data to understand product performance, uncover insights, and inform prioritization.
  • Project management: Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with multi-disciplinary stakeholders
  • Communication & influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, align stakeholders, and clearly articulate product vision and value.
  • Education expertise: Understanding of the education landscape and specific experience within Edtech is a huge plus.
