About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Foster City, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Foster City, CA
• Schedule: 20 hours per month; 1-2 sessions a week for 2-3 hour sessions (TBD)
• Pay rate is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Extensive experience working with students in special education settings, particularly those with autism and ADHD.
• Knowledge of sensory supports, visual learning tools, and behavior regulation strategies.
• Ability to design and implement hands-on, play-based, and structured lessons.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and other professionals.
• Education or background in special education, speech/language development, or child development preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction in early literacy and math skills at the PreK–K level.
• Support functional communication development using visual and language-based strategies.
• Incorporate social-emotional learning to build emotional awareness and self-regulation.
• Use visual supports, simplified language, and clear routines to promote understanding and focus.
• Offer frequent movement and sensory breaks to maintain engagement and regulation.
• Model calm self-regulation and respond thoughtfully to the student’s nonverbal cues.
• Collaborate with the family to address goals related to communication, emotional expression, and self-advocacy.
• Conduct an initial assessment to tailor instruction to the student’s individual learning profile.
