Skills
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 production and test standards
- Experience with MRP, PLM, and MES systems and automation integration
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and capacity planning
- Hands-on experience with spacecraft environmental testing (vibration, thermal, shock, TVAC)
- Familiarity with test hardware and tooling (vibration tables, TVAC, EMI/EMC chambers, optical alignment, FlatSats)
- Cleanroom and ESD-sensitive manufacturing management
- Ability to develop IMS schedules and work closely with program management
- Data analysis and test automation skills (LabVIEW/MATLAB/Python preferred)
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor technicians, production, test, and manufacturing engineers to deliver spacecraft on schedule.
- Own execution of production and test schedules and provide inputs to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Develop and maintain capacity planning and load forecasts to balance resources and prevent bottlenecks.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, and lean initiatives to reduce cycle time and increase first-time yield.
- Ensure build and test processes comply with AS9100/ISO9001 and program requirements.
- Oversee test procedure development, execution, data analysis, anomaly resolution, and root cause investigations.
- Coordinate facilities, tooling, cleanroom, and safety/efficiency optimization.
- Coach and develop team members to build a high-performing, scalable organization.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline (required)
- Master’s degree in related field preferred
