Immigration Attorney - EOIR - job 1 of 2

The United Firm is a growing immigration law firm in the San Antonio area focused on protecting clients' rights and delivering measurable results. We seek an admitted EOIR Associate Attorney to manage a caseload, represent detained and non-detained clients, collaborate with colleagues, and grow professionally within an established firm offering hands-on training and career development.

Skills

  • Admission to practice law and ability to appear in immigration court
  • Experience preparing immigration applications and briefs
  • Case management and docketing skills
  • Strong client interviewing and counseling abilities
  • Courtroom advocacy and litigation skills
  • Familiarity with immigration forms and EOIR procedures

Responsibilities

  • Represent detained and non-detained clients in Immigration Court, USCIS matters, and before the Board of Immigration Appeals (EOIR).
  • Prepare defensive and affirmative immigration filings (e.g., I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, SIJS, PD requests).
  • Review and advise on USCIS filings such as I-130, I-601A, U-Visa, and related petitions.
  • Meet with clients to develop case strategy, collect facts, and provide legal analysis and counseling.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs and motions across a variety of immigration case types.
  • Manage and delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants to meet service and filing deadlines.
  • Appear in-person for court hearings and attend client-related meetings as required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
  • Active membership in a state bar (admitted attorney)
  • Eligible to practice and appear before Immigration Court
