The School of Engineering Medicine in collaboration with Texas A&M College of Engineering, Texas A&M School of Medicine and the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital offer an innovative medical school program called ENMED. This program was established to transform healthcare through translational interdisciplinary research, the development of medical technologies, and the development and training of “Physicianeers.” ENMED delivers a revolutionary blended curriculum with focus on innovation and entrepreneurship where students receive a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Engineering degree in the same four years.
What we want
The Manager, Communications, under direction, plays a key role in driving the execution of strategic marketing and communications initiatives at the School of Engineering Medicine. This position leads the coordination of digital content, manages timelines across multiple projects, and ensures that visual and written deliverables meet brand and editorial standards.

Salary: $5,373.33/monthly

Schedule: Ability to work beyond normal office hours and/or on weekends as needed.
Travel: This position may require up to 20% or more travel
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of marketing, communications, or closely related experience to include digital content creation and project coordination
Preferred Qualifications
Progressively responsible experience in digital content creation and project coordination.
Experience in Higher Education.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and web content management systems such as WordPress or Cascade.
Familiarity with project management tools, digital asset management platforms, and social media scheduling tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write, edit, and review content for digital and print platforms.
Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with web content management systems, social media platforms, and digital communication tools.
Ability to coordinate with vendors and stakeholders, track project progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Skilled in presenting information clearly, concisely, and in alignment with brand standards.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination/Management
Coordinates timelines and deliverables for marketing and communications initiatives to ensure projects are completed on schedule and align with institutional goals.
Tracks progress for recurring responsibilities such as newsletters, campaigns, and promotional material production.
Proactively follows up with internal team members and external vendors to maintain project momentum and reduce last-minute requests, supporting a more efficient workflow across the department.
Oversees relationships with contract vendors such as graphic designers, photographers, printers, and promotional item suppliers.
Requests quotes, coordinates timelines, communicates project needs, and ensures deliverables meet university branding standards and campaign objectives.
Brand/Content Standards
Collaborates with the director to ensure alignment with institutional messaging, branding, and voice.
Ensure creative deliverables align with brand standards and storytelling goals.
Reviews content created by team members for consistency, tone, and quality prior to final submission.
Creative Development
Develops, curates, and manages content for digital platforms, including the website, social media channels, and digital campaigns.
Plans and executes digital storytelling that promotes the school’s mission and vision.
Writes and edits copy optimized for digital engagement.
Captures original photography for events, student features, and marketing materials.
Supports the development of visual and multimedia content for use in digital and print communications.
Manages the school’s website and social media presence.
Leadership and Strategy
Helps plan visual direction for campaigns and social media.
Supports storytelling campaigns that elevate student success, innovation, and institutional visibility.
Assesses the performance of digital content and refines strategies to improve reach and audience engagement.
Participates in team planning meetings, cross-functional collaborations, and other marketing initiatives as assigned by the director.
Supports ongoing communications needs and special projects that align with institutional priorities.
Translate ideas into action to keep cross-functional projects moving forward.
Asset Management
Manages inventory of promotional items and marketing collateral and assists with procurement and fulfillment to support events and outreach efforts.
Maintains an organized library of visual assets.
