About Swoop:
Swoop Technologies has a mission to organize and make accessible the world’s military and critical infrastructure. We are building a distributed operating system, SwoopOS, that decomposes the world’s equipment into a distributed robotic embodiment upon which a new generation of distributed systems, autonomous systems, and agentic AI can be built and deployed using our SDK, Valhalla, and operated via our browser, Surf. Imagine the world’s equipment - consisting of the electrical grid, communications architectures, manufacturing facilities, and militaries as a trapped supply of inputs possessing the potential to ensure Western military advantage, sovereign control of economically competitive manufacturing capacity, or the creation of a grid that fosters energy dominance. Swoop is liberating these trapped assets, allowing them to contribute to the world’s future as a series of building blocks to be combined at the speed of software, limited by only the hard constraints of physics and the soft constraints of safety. That is what Swoop is building. Not in the data center or cloud or edge on-premise computing node. In the physical world. This is a hybrid position that requires someone based in Minneapolis/St. Paul or Washington, DC who can work in-office 3+ days per week
Your Impact:
You will work with the existing infrastructure and deployment team to automate, scale and test deployments of Swoop Technologies’ products. Deployments may include secure, airgapped, on prem, remote, bare metal and cloud environments. Currently, deployments are closely tied to a gitlab CI/CD infrastructure. Day to day tasks will include spinning up and down AWS resources to support code development and testing, refining Terraform provisioning scripts, monitoring and building out profiling metrics, and securing overall cloud presence.
What You’ll Do:
Building out automation around monitoring of cloud resource health and usage
Working with security engineers to ensure NIST, STIG compliance of cloud applications
Automation of cloud resource provisioning using Terraform and Ansible
Streamlining the process by which developers deploy, run and test code in cloud environments
Enabling appropriate cloud and orchestration scaling mechanisms to ensure ideal balance of performance and resource use efficiency
Support code and resource updates of client installations
Work with client engineers to monitor and fine tune their resources
You Should Have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience
3+ yrs in cloud provisioning and management
Understanding of basic software security standards, CI/CD configuration, and buildout (i.e. configuring gitlab.yaml files)
Code containerization (reading and editing Dockerfiles); Container orchestration (Kubernetes); Provisioning (Terraform); Cloud Deployments (AWS); Resource monitoring (Promethius)
Linux, CentOS, Windows knowledge
Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
Bonus if you have:
AWS Certifications
Experience working in AWS gov cloud
Competent in networking and virtualization (firewalls, IP tables, virtual environments, containerization, VMWare, application ingress, etc).
Test/QA automation
Code quality and security scanning using tools such as SonarQube
