Skills
- Strong experience developing and maintaining RTL2GDSII flows
- Proficiency with EDA tool flows for synthesis, place & route and signoff
- Excellent scripting/programming (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) and automation skills
- Knowledge of advanced process nodes and foundry flows
- Experience creating dashboards and HTML/status reporting for EDA outputs
- Familiarity with PPA optimization, STA, EM/IR, and physical verification
- Ability to interface effectively with vendors and cross-functional engineering teams
- Comfortable working extended hours and in a fast-changing environment
Responsibilities
- Create and support RTL2GDSII methodology and CAD flows optimized for multimillion-gate designs (PPA and runtime)
- Develop integrated hierarchical physical design flows for SoC collateral management and signoff (PV/STA/EM/IR)
- Build dashboards and centralized reporting for project tracking and EDA results visualization
- Collaborate with RTL, physical design, package, DFT and validation teams to improve methodologies and resolve issues
- Work with EDA vendors to evaluate tools, report/resolve bugs, and improve usability and flows
- Integrate foundry EDA kits and vendor IP into SpaceX infrastructure and release validated flows
- Establish RTL2GDSII flows for new process nodes, run regressions and QA checks prior to project execution
- Perform partition synthesis and physical implementation steps including floorplanning, power/ground grid generation, P&R, timing, noise, physical verification, EM/IR, and signoff checks
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (required)
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred but not required
