Skills
- Demonstrated experience with valves, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and other fluid components.
- Proficiency in CAD for modeling fluid systems and generating manufacturable designs.
- Experience performing fluid/pressure analyses and tolerance/stack-up thinking.
- Familiarity with test instrumentation and data acquisition (pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs).
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, ducting, and dust collection systems.
- Ability to collaborate with production and cross-functional engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Own commissioning and subject matter expertise for campus fluid/HVAC components (compressors, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, dust collection, COPVs).
- Perform CAD modeling and detailed design for fluids and HVAC systems.
- Conduct fluid analyses for pressure balance, component allowable design, and consumables estimation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (production, avionics, GNC, mission ops) to ensure component requirements are met.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable; support production transition and sustainment reduction.
- Support material selection, component sizing, procurement, and testing plans.
- Develop and execute test plans using data acquisition and instrumentation to validate system performance.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required).
- Master's degree in an engineering discipline (preferred).
