Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an Investigative Analyst, to join our team, embedded in our client’s Risk, Intelligence, Investigations, & Executive Security function. Based remotely in the US (but with a preference for proximity to Seattle, Chicago, Austin, or Denver), you will be responsible for researching, analysing, and building products to assess risks and opportunities around the client’s people, operations, strategy, and brand reputation. You will be a practitioner who will gather timely and accurate information / intelligence on threats and risks to the client’s personnel, assets, and operations globally. In this role, you would be instrumental in developing finished intelligence products used to inform the client’s business decision makers and provide incident management support to the client’s internal business operations. In addition, you will engage directly with stakeholders within the client organization to interpret their requirements, provide immediate support and consulting, and leverage depth support from Sibylline's internal resources. The ideal candidate must be adaptable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong analysis skills, and develop tailored intelligence reports with strategic insight on various geopolitical topics, and has a sharp enthusiasm for corporate security, analysis, and problem-solving. This is a cross-functional role that partners closely with other teams and other corporate stakeholders. Applicants require the ability to collect intelligence information and track threat and geopolitical developments directly or indirectly affecting the client’s assets, people, and interests globally. For this role we are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have knowledge or expertise in advanced online investigation (OSINT) techniques. While not required, it is preferred if candidates live near Seattle, Chicago, Austin or Denver.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide credible, timely, and actionable intelligence to drive investigations, develop proactive leads, and inform operators and business decision-makers.

  • Identify, investigate, and manage security incidents involving the client and partnership organizations.

  • Conduct deep dive investigations into threats directed at the client’s senior leadership and C-Suite executives through all forms of communication.

  • Generate both raw and finished intelligence products/analysis to internal and external customers through written reporting, in varying predetermined suspense and depth, with minimal supervision.

  • Liaise across functions within the client, including Security & Privacy, Fraud & Risk Operations, Legal, and Global Escalations.

  • Update and present current threats on a weekly basis to senior leadership teams. Conduct briefings as needed for a variety of levels of customers as requested (via phone, video conference, in-person briefing, or industry conference).

  • Collect intelligence related to threats originating from external sources outside the company, as well as internal incidents and issues affecting the client’s employees, customers, facilities, and/or brand.

  • Track and maintain reporting of statistical and written analysis of threats, incidents and investigations for management review.

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to include law enforcement, public safety, intelligence, and investigative organizations.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to produce quality, finished intelligence and investigations products for short deadlines, including operational briefs and long-term strategic assessments.
  • Experience handling and disseminating sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated interest in OSINT and advanced research skills, with the ability to quickly assess the capability, intent and proximity of threat actors using little information.
  • Ability to collaborate with other service functions (IT, HR, Finance, Legal, Trust & Safety, etc.).
  • Inclination to work in a process-driven environment, striving for consistency and conformity in methodology and output.
  •  Analytical flair: the ability to provide rigorous, creative insight into complex situations.
  • Ability to quickly determine how security events and crises impact business operations.
  • Ability to rapidly digest, evaluate and “sift” large quantities of information.
  • Ability to manipulate and visualize data.
  • Ability to work in both individual and team environments.
  • Open and flexible mindset, with a willingness to learn and gain new skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and initiative.
  • High level competency with MS Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, international relations, security studies, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant corporate experience, including some exposure to private sector geopolitical analysis, security and/or investigations.

  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal).

  • Advanced proficiency in Web-based social media platforms, search tools, productivity applications, and communication technology.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: $91,950 - $140,000 Annually based on locality and experience
  • Medical Insurance - Sibylline pays 80% of premiums, Employee pays 20%
