The Equities Researcher will help quantify and narrate Sei’s momentum in institutional markets, leveraging Sei’s technical performance and ecosystem adoption in capital-markets language.
In this public-facing, research-focused role you’ll produce data-driven reports, token comps, and narrative decks showcasing Sei’s institutional-grade infrastructure for RWAs and stablecoins. Partnering across growth, BD, and leadership teams, you’ll translate capital markets terminology to highlight our traction (e.g. Apollo’s $1.2B credit fund, Ondo’s $685M tokenized treasury).
This fast-paced role will fuel our thought leadership and investor storytelling as Sei cements its position as the preferred global settlement layer.
Conduct in‑depth fundamental research on the blockchain ecosystem and digital assets, including sector analysis and company/protocol deep dives.
Build and update detailed financial and valuation models for crypto firms and token projects (e.g. revenue forecasts, DCFs, token comparables).
Author and publish investor‑facing research content – such as equity reports, market notes, blog posts or newsletters – covering sector themes, company initiations, earnings, and market commentary.
Identify and articulate high‑conviction investment ideas and themes (often contrarian) across digital asset markets; deliver timely thought-leadership analyses and commentary on macro and crypto trends.
Develop analytical tools and processes, leveraging on‑chain and off‑chain data, to assess token utility, network usage and risk (e.g. on‑chain metrics, protocol health, trading flows).
Engage regularly with industry experts, company management and investor relations contacts to gather insights and validate assumptions.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) is a plus.
2–5 years of professional experience in investment research, equity analysis, investment banking or asset management.
Passion for digital assets and blockchain: demonstrable knowledge of crypto markets and technology. Candidates with prior fintech or crypto coverage (on the buy‑ or sell‑side) are highly desired.
Proven financial modeling skills (advanced Excel proficiency), with a track record of building valuation models (DCF, multiples) or investment frameworks.
Excellent writing and communication abilities: capable of producing crisp research notes, presentations and thought‑leadership content for institutional audiences.
Sharp analytical mindset and intellectual curiosity; able to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable market insights.
Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working across functions and explaining complex concepts clearly.
Quant/Data Skills: Experience with programming (Python, SQL, data APIs) and/or on‑chain analytics tools to gather and analyze blockchain data.
DeFi/Tech Savvy: Knowledge of decentralized finance protocols, smart contracts, tokenomics (staking, DeFi, NFTs, DePIN, etc.) or blockchain development (e.g. Solidity).
Thought Leadership: Track record of publishing research or thought pieces (blogs, whitepapers, industry reports) and speaking at conferences or webinars on crypto topics.
Traditional Finance Credentials: Advanced finance/quant degrees (Master’s, PhD) or progress toward CFA charter.
Product & Strategy Orientation: Experience translating research into product ideas or strategic initiatives (e.g. contributing to index/ETF design, investment products or corporate strategy).
Global/Multi-lingual Perspective: Experience with international markets or additional languages, reflecting Sei’s global ambitions.
