Data Engineer

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Engineer with a strong focus on Power BI and MS SQL Server to join our team. This role will play a critical part in developing, maintaining, and enhancing reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience working with APIs, ERP, WMS, and MES systems. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and clarity for end users.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views in MS SQL Server to support reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data needs, and translate them into actionable reporting solutions.
  • Integrate data from ERP, WMS, HRMS, and MES systems using APIs, SQL, and other connectors to ensure accurate and efficient data flow.
  • Maintain and enhance Crystal Reports for legacy reporting needs.
  • Ensure data integrity, perform quality checks, and troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Support CI (Continuous Improvement) initiatives by supporting the CI reporting processes.
  • Document reporting processes, data sources, and data models for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging reporting tools and technologies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar reporting or data analyst role.
  • Proficient in Power BI: data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and report/dashboard design.
  • Strong experience with MS SQL Server: query writing, performance tuning, and database design principles.
  • Experience working with APIs for data extraction and integration.
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports and legacy reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar.), WMS, and MES systems and their reporting structures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure Data Services, Power Automate, or other automation tools.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • SCADA and manufacturing systems exposure preferred.
  • Syspro experience and TransLution experience are a plus.
  • Certification in Power BI, SQL, or related analytics tools is a plus.
  • Experience with continuous improvement (CI) environments is highly desirable.
