Director, Corporate Development

Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering launch services, spacecraft, and components to enable scientific, commercial, and national security missions. The Director of Corporate Development, based at the company’s Long Beach headquarters, will lead evaluation and execution of inorganic growth opportunities (M&A, partnerships, investments), drive strategic planning and market analysis, and manage deal execution through diligence, negotiation, and integration.

Skills

  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
  • M&A transaction experience including due diligence and integration
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Project management for complex, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and challenge assumptions
  • Comfort working in aerospace, tech, or startup environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic theses, market analyses, financial models, and valuations to evaluate and recommend transactions
  • Manage strategic planning and opportunity prioritization aligned to company vision
  • Lead post-close integration planning and execution to realize strategic and financial value
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence and coordinate multiple workstreams and external advisors
  • Support negotiation and deal structuring, and prepare materials for executive leadership and the Board
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform strategy

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or related field
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
