Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:In an outpatient setting, remains accountable for provision of direct care to assigned patients. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system. Works as a team member and assists other staff members with implementing patient care. Assumes responsibility of care for assigned patients under the direction of the co-assigned RN or MD. Participates in the plan of care, implements appropriate nursing interventions, and contributes to patient/family education through collection of data, interdisciplinary team collaboration, documentation and excellent communication.
FT position available, primarily days, 8-hour shifts
Exciting opportunity to work in an outpatient setting serving the orthopedic patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric aged patients. The LPN responsibilities include direct care of ambulatory Orthopaedic patients, brace fitting, setting up and assisting with procedures, suture and staple removal, medication administration, cast and splint application and removal, JC preparation and performance improvement activities. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask and lead a team in providing optimal patient care and throughput. Able to represent the University’s IICARE values with staff and patients. Must be willing to float to other clinics as patient care needs arise. NYS LPN license and minimum of one year experience is required. Prior experience in ambulatory care and/or Orthopaedics is preferred.
