Skills
- Experience with turbopump assembly procedures including rotor balancing and leak checks
- Manufacturing process experience: fluids testing, machining, additive manufacturing
- Familiarity with tolerance stack-up analysis and structural proof testing
- CAD and analysis experience (Siemens NX or similar)
- Tooling design experience including conceptualization, modeling, drafting, and analysis
- Strong documentation and process development skills
- Ability to drive projects in ambiguous, fast-paced aerospace environments
Responsibilities
- Develop and document manufacturing processes for fuel and oxidizer turbopump components and assemblies
- Own manufacturing trades and tooling from concept through production
- Perform and oversee rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks
- Collaborate with design and analysis teams to optimize hardware for manufacturability and flight production
- Scale production processes to meet launch rate goals and ensure consistent quality
- Support assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of turbomachinery hardware and subassemblies
- Create work instructions, manufacturing travelers, and oversee process validations
- Coordinate cross-functional communication between manufacturing, design, and test teams
Education
- Degree in engineering or related technical field
- 2+ years of relevant manufacturing or turbomachinery experience
