Engineering jobs still tough to land these days?

My work asked if I knew anyone who might wanna interview, but they’re mainly lookin for fresh grads or ppl w/ 0–2 YOE. I’m not applying but kinda curious, are things picking up again? or is it just my company being desperate since we’re based in a smaller area 🤷‍♂️
