Qumis is redefining insurance with generative AI. We're building the leading vertical AI platform for insurance knowledge work, trusted by top brokers, carriers, and claims professionals to analyze complex policies, compare terms, and generate law-firm-quality insights in seconds.
Our traction is undeniable: 100% pilot conversion, 20% month-over-month growth, and >150% quarter-over-quarter growth in 2025, all with minimal outbound sales or marketing. We're backed by leading venture investors including Armory Square Ventures, MTech Capital, and BrokerTech Ventures. Now we're building a marketing engine to accelerate the momentum we've created through product excellence and word of mouth.
Build the marketing function that powers the next phase of Qumis's growth.
We're hiring our first Director of Marketing to own our entire marketing strategy and execution. You'll be a foundational member of our go-to-market team, responsible for everything from brand positioning and content strategy to demand generation and sales enablement. This isn't a role where you'll inherit a playbook; you'll build it all from scratch.
You'll define how Qumis shows up in the market, craft narratives that resonate with insurance professionals, generate qualified pipeline for our sales team, and create scalable processes as we scale from seed to Series A and beyond. You'll work directly with our CEO, Head of Sales, and founding team, with high visibility and direct impact on company strategy.
This role is ideal for a full-stack marketer who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, someone who can develop a content calendar in the morning, optimize a paid campaign at lunch, and present brand strategy to the board in the afternoon. You've built marketing functions at early-stage companies before and understand what it takes to do more with less in B2B SaaS, insurtech, fintech, or AI.

Own top-of-funnel metrics: MQLs, SQLs, pipeline contribution, and CAC efficiency
Design and optimize conversion funnels from first touch through qualified demo
Experiment relentlessly—test channels, messages, and tactics to find what works, then scale it
Content & Thought Leadership
Create compelling content that educates the market and positions Qumis as the category leader: blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, webinars, and customer stories
Develop a thought leadership platform for founders and subject matter experts to amplify Qumis's voice
Build a content engine that supports every stage of the buyer journey: awareness through decision
Leverage AI tools to scale content production without sacrificing quality or authenticity
Sales Enablement & Product Marketing
Create sales collateral, competitive battle cards, pitch decks, and demo scripts that help the sales team win
Develop customer-facing materials including one-pagers, ROI calculators, and proposal templates
Partner with Product to translate technical capabilities into compelling, buyer-centric messaging
Support key deals with custom content and strategic positioning

Build and engage our community through social media, newsletters, and industry events
Required Qualifications
9+ years of marketing experience with significant time in B2B SaaS, insurtech, legaltech, fintech, AI, or related early-stage technology companies
Proven track record building marketing functions from zero; you've been the first or second marketing hire and know how to prioritize ruthlessly
Full-stack marketer who can operate across brand, content, demand gen, product marketing, and sales enablement without a large team
Strong analytical skills with experience in marketing attribution, funnel metrics, and data-driven decision making
Excellent writing and storytelling ability: you can translate complex, technical products into clear, compelling narratives
Hands-on experience with the latest marketing technology: CRM , marketing automation, analytics platforms, and modern AI tools (Lemlist, Attio, Clay, etc.)
Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the challenge of building in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience marketing to insurance professionals: brokers, carriers, MGAs, claims organizations, or legal teams
Background in enterprise or mid-market B2B sales cycles with $50K+ ACV deals
Experience with AI/ML products and the ability to articulate technical differentiation to non-technical buyers
Track record of supporting 3-5x revenue growth at a seed or Series B company
Existing relationships within the insurance industry
Success Profile
You'll thrive if you:
Move fast and ship: you'd rather launch something 80% perfect today than something 100% perfect in three months
Own outcomes, not activities: you measure success by pipeline generated and revenue influenced, not campaigns launched
Think like a founder: you connect your work to company outcomes, understand unit economics, and treat budget like your own money
Embrace AI as a superpower: you're already using Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI tools daily to 10x your productivity
Build trust effortlessly: you can influence without authority and earn credibility with technical and business stakeholders
Thrive in ambiguity: you don't need perfect documentation or a defined playbook before being productive
