IETM Developer/Technical Writer

PURVIS currently has an immediate opening for an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM)/Technical Writer to work on-site at our client's location in Manassas, VA.

• Scheduling, planning, estimating, customer support, and product delivery.
• Developing, modifying, and reviewing Naval shipboard technical documentation and U.S. Navy Technical Manuals.
• Experience with Model Based Product Support (MBPS) a plus and Extensible Markup Language.(XML).
• Writing, editing, and reviewing technical materials in support of maintenance, repair, testing, product improvement, and/or alteration of Naval Ship Systems and Equipment.
• Participating in peer reviews of the work of other technical writers. 

• Strong knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including rules of composition, and grammar.
• Strong verbal communication, listening and interviewing skills.
• Ability to research highly technical information and interpret data.
• Experience with DITA XML-based architecture.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage complex tasks from inception to end.
• Good customer interface skills and understanding of customer needs.
• Experience with S1000D and style guides a plus.
• Skilled at using the Microsoft O365 Suite – Excel, Outlook, Teams, Planner, Word, PowerPoint.

Candidate must have or be be able to obtain a government security clearance of SECRET.
