Staff Data Engineer, Data Platform
Skills
- Expertise in modern data stack technologies including Apache Iceberg, Hudi, or Delta Lake
- Strong programming skills with over 5 years writing production-quality Python
- Familiarity with JVM languages such as Java, Scala, or Kotlin
- Experience building stream processing pipelines using Apache Flink and/or Spark
- Strong proficiency in AWS cloud architecture and multiple database technologies (Postgres, OLAP, NoSQL)
- Knowledge of event-driven distributed systems
- Excellent communication and project management skills for cross-team partnerships
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the data platform, tooling, and architecture to meet analytical and product needs
- Lead delivery of a scalable v2 data architecture incorporating a data lakehouse
- Build stream and batch data ingestion pipelines processing source data
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and BI teams to support analytics use cases and migrations
- Maintain and enhance existing data engineering systems
- Mentor and coach data engineers and backend engineers within the data practice
Education
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
