ROLE SUMMARY
The Vaccines Global Medical Content Creation, & Data Dissemination Lead is a strategic and externally highly visible leadership position responsible for developing, disseminating, and globally leading an evidence-based medical content and communications strategy for the Pfizer Vaccines portfolio. The Vaccines Global Medical Content Creation & Data Dissemination Lead is responsible for ensuring that the medical content, vaccine narrative and key messages are not only scientifically accurate, ethically right, and globally compliant, but also strategically aligned with the Global and Regional cross-functional team, as well as, compellingly impactful, and effectively communicating the clinical and societal value of Pfizer Vaccines in the context of their benefits to the global public health and patient lives improvement.
The Vaccines Global Medical Content Creation & Data Dissemination Lead will motivate, lead, and create a high-performing, innovative, and globally-oriented vaccines Team; champion evidence-based, ethical, and audience-first communication practices; drive relentless digital innovation; ensure unwavering compliance with global regulatory standards; and act as a trusted strategic advisor to the Head of Medical Affairs and other vaccines senior leaders. Building synergistic and open relationships with cross-functional teams worldwide is essential to effective global Pfizer Vaccines communications strategy implementation, maximizing the extent and positive impact of medical-to- medical interactions worldwide.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Strategic Leadership and Vision
Create and lead a visionary Pfizer Vaccines Global Medical Content Creation & Data Dissemination Strategy:
- Formulate, articulate, and execute a globally relevant, and impactful medical content creation and communications strategy closely aligned with the vaccines cross-functional team, supporting and driving the Pfizer global strategic initiatives, vaccine product lifecycle management plans, global medical affairs goals, and strategic imperatives overall. The strategy must incorporate proactive and reactive communication components.
- Create, establish, and closely manage a cohesive and global strategic plan for the development and dissemination of medical and scientific data on the Pfizer Vaccines portfolio and pipeline to diverse groups of international KOLs and other stakeholders.
- Predict, analyze, and react to international vaccine trends, new science data, shifts in public opinion, and evolving regulatory landscapes to modify and refine the Pfizer global communications strategy in advance to maintain relevance and efficacy.
- Develop a consistent and compelling Global Pfizer Vaccine Narrative:
- Be the Pfizer champion and primary responsible of the overarching, scientifically valid, ethically aligned, and culturally sensitive Global Pfizer Vaccine narrative.
- Promote and supervise the consistent application of the Global Pfizer Vaccine Narrative in all medical and scientific communications, marketing materials, web sites, social media, public relations activities, and internal communications.
- Drive consistent messaging globally that conveys Pfizer Vaccines benefits, mechanism of action, and supporting clinical evidence.
- Drive Global Digital Innovation and Transformation:
- Lead the continuous monitoring, analyzing, and utilizing new trends in medical communications, global digital engagement strategy, global data dissemination methods, emerging technologies, patient education platforms, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to drive increased effectiveness, personalization, and global reach of Pfizer Vaccines communications (omnichannel approach).
- Identify, pilot, and implement next-generation digital technologies, global platforms, and new strategies to improve medical content creation, delivery, audience engagement, and impact measurement globally.
- Be a trusted expert and strategic advisor:
- Carry out the leadership on all matters of global medical communications, scientific storytelling, digital engagement, and cross-cultural communications for senior leaders, global cross-functional teams, as well as internal and external partners.
- Provide professional guidance, actionable insights, and strategic recommendations to inform key decision-making on international product development, market entry, regulatory policy, public affairs, and global commercialization activities.
- Develop and track Global Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Develop and constantly track KPIs to measure the impact and global extent of Pfizer Vaccines medical content generation and data dissemination programs.
- Help the development of analytics tools (ie. dashboards) to chart global performance metrics, identify trends, inform strategic adjustments, and demonstrate the value and impact of medical communications activity to the executive leadership.
- Budget management and resource optimization:
- Lead the development, management, and monitor of the Pfizer Vaccines Global Medical Content Creation & Data Dissemination budget, allocating financial and human resources in the optimal manner to achieve strategic objectives, achieve maximum global reach, and adhere to financial stewardship principles.
- Drive Pfizer Vaccines Global Medical Content Creation & Data Dissemination Alignment with the Cross-Functional Team:
- Establish effective and collaborative relationships with Global cross-functional teams like Global R&D, Global Medical Affairs, Regional Medical Affairs, Global Marketing, Global Commercial, Global Public Affairs, Global Regulatory Affairs, and Global Market Access, among others to align communication strategies with global business objectives and brand strategies in general.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to global cross-functional teams, providing advice on best practices for medical communications and ensuring that communications plans are coordinated and aligned globally across all functions.
- Collaborate on the development of global Pfizer Vaccines core messages, sales training materials, and global promotional campaign development. Provide scientific input and accuracy to commercial communications. Collaborate on key global Pfizer Vaccines launches and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Participate actively in global cross-functional team meetings to provide insights, provide comments, and coordinate communications, ensuring that all stakeholders share alignment on key messaging and strategic initiatives.
Content Development and Governance
- Deliver strategic direction, flawless execution, and diligent oversight of a heterogeneous portfolio of high-quality, world-relevant, scientifically sound, and ethically responsible Pfizer Vaccines medical content such as:
- Original scientific articles for publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed publications, white papers, international conference proceedings, and internet publications, in accordance with Pfizer policies standards.
- Innovative and appealing global presentations for scientific conferences, international advisory boards, and external and internal stakeholders training programs, based on the latest scientific data, interactive elements, and clear communication pathways.
- Appealing, culturally adapted, and scientifically accurate infographics, animations, videos, and interactive tools customized for a range of digital media and international publics, taking into account accessibility and appeal in each culture.
- Comprehensive, interactive, and culturally sensitive global training materials for internal staff (e.g., field medical team, medical science liaisons) and external stakeholders (e.g., HCPs, pharmacists, payers) based on multimedia capabilities (omnichannel approach), and effective communications strategies.
- Proactively monitor and evaluate emerging trends in global digital communication, medical affairs, and data analytics to identify opportunities for innovation, improvement, and differentiation.
- Lead a Global Vaccine Digital Content Standards
- Develop and execute a global digital content Pfizer vaccine strategy based on omnichannel to reach and engage target audiences worldwide, including websites, e-mail marketing, social media, and emerging digital media.
- Oversee the development and deployment of targeted global email campaigns that deliver timely, contextual, and engaging content to HCPs, patients, and other external stakeholders.
- Create and disseminate high-impact social media messaging that promotes Pfizer Vaccine awareness, refutes misinformation, enables dialogue with external stakeholders, and establishes Pfizer as vaccine leader globally.
- Manage global vendor management and strategic partnerships:
- Oversee procurement, contracting, performance, and strategic partnership with external agencies, vendors, and consultants that contribute to Pfizer Global Vaccines medical content development, providing high-quality output, on-time and on-budget performance, strategic alignment, and compliance with company policies.
Strategic Communication Planning
- Develop and execute integrated Pfizer Vaccines Global communication plans:
- Create and implement comprehensive, integrated, and internationally relevant strategic communications plans to clearly convey clinical trial data, real-world evidence (RWE), and other relevant data to key stakeholders across the entire Pfizer Vaccines product life cycle.
- Implement transparent, measurable, and internationally relevant communications objectives and results supporting overall global business goals and positioning Pfizer a valued leader in vaccine development.
- Identify and prioritize target audiences by information needs, influence level, and potential contribution to vaccine uptake, and align messaging and channels to maximize impact.
- Develop concise, compelling, and scientifically accurate key messages that are framed for different global audiences and channels.
- Establish clear timelines, utilize resources effectively, and monitor the impact of communications to get best results.
Global Stakeholder Engagement
- Help the Global Cross-Functional Team to build and maintain KOL relationships:
- Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, leading scientists, and influential researchers in the vaccinology, immunology, infectious diseases, and public health sciences globally.
- Develop and implement a robust KOL engagement plan, including advisory boards, speaker programs, and other activities.
- Collaboration with external stakeholders to design vaccine educational materials, public awareness events, and other programs to build confidence in vaccines and improve global health outcomes.
- Establish Global educational programs and scientific exchange:
- Direct creation and implementation of vaccine educational and programs for healthcare professionals (HCPs), including symposia, advisory boards, webinars, and e-learning sessions.
- Create state-of-the-art platforms for scientific sharing, facilitating knowledge, best practice, and new research findings sharing between world-class experts and practitioners in the science of vaccinology.
- Represent Pfizer Vaccines at global events:
- Serve as Pfizer Vaccines leading representative at international conferences, scientific conventions, industry meetings, and other significant events, actively portraying the company's scientific reputation and advancing global health objectives.
Global Regulatory and Compliance
- Maintain Global Regulatory Compliance:
- Provide a thorough knowledge of global regulatory guidelines for medical communications to allow all activities to be in conformance with Pfizer policies.
- Provide training and education on an ongoing basis in order to give team members appropriate knowledge and ability to comply with respective Pfizer regulations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Specific qualifications include:
- PhD, MD, or Pharm D with additional research training in one or more of the following areas: infectious disease, public health, epidemiology, vaccinology, clinical development, or closely related field
- At least 10 years of experience in medical affairs or related field, including vaccine and ID-related clinical programs and medical/scientific activities
- Preference is for experience in vaccine-related or vaccine-preventable disease related medical/scientific activities
- Able to review and assess the safety aspects of Pfizer Vaccines and in promotional materials, publications, and interactions with KOLs.
- Demonstrated ability to create and articulate global strategies while also understanding how to tailor those global strategies for specific country needs
- Ability to discuss scientific aspects of Pfizer Vaccines development, including vaccine related commercial and regulatory issues.
- Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex vaccine and epidemiological data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills
- Demonstrated experienced writing manuscripts, including lead or senior authorship on 3 or more peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong inter-personal skills.

- Knowledgeable of the commercial and environmental issues that drive vaccines development projects.
- Understanding of the emerging safety and efficacy profile of vaccine candidates including providing a perspective with comparator vaccines.
- Knowledge of Pfizer Vaccines is desirable but not required.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $219,800.00 to $366,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
