PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Identify compelling stories from across the confederation that can be used across digital mediums to raise awareness of Oxfam’s work and engage supporters to fight inequality to end poverty and injustice. Manage coordination of written and visual content and storytelling narratives to support channel managers. Conceptualize and create written and visual content for social media that advance Oxfam’s social media branding and strategic goals. Manage organizational Asana email calendar based on input from consultants and colleagues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate the content needed for Oxfam America’s email, website promotions, organic social media, and paid media programs. This includes assessing content needs; identifying compelling stories; and communicating requests clearly to the appropriate content gatherers, in close collaboration with digital team and agency.
• In collaboration with digital team, content and design team, and campaigns teams, create impactful stories and content for use across social media platforms to advance the organization’s social media goals Run content through review processes to ensure all public-facing materials meet Oxfam’s high standards for branding, messaging, and factchecking.
• Craft digital-first, short-form messaging and calls-to-action from long-form media publications, including raw content from country teams, reports, and complex research for digital fundraising, campaign, and rapid response moments.
• Monitor social media comments and response to community messages.
• Track social media metrics and performance to inform future social media content.
• Draft website promotions and calls to action to ensure the Oxfam America website appears relevant to visitors and helps recruit new supporters and raise revenue for the organization.
• Set up projects and assign tasks and deadlines to staff and consultants using Asana project management tool to support digital team planning and projects.
• Manage the organizational Asana calendar of emails including fielding incoming requests, coordinating with digital agency and team members, updating Asana calendar, and communicating back with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with public engagement; resource development, campaigns, and policy team; and other digital team members to ensure effective implementation of digital strategies across channels. Join campaign and other coordination calls to represent digital content needs for our channels.
• As needed, track data related to digital branding, fundraising, and advocacy efforts to assist in performance analysis and reporting.
• Assist in other digital team tasks as needed to raise awareness about Oxfam America, our work, and campaigns and engage supporters in our work.

EDUCATION
• Some college or advanced studies preferred, including certifications in related field(s), or a combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE AND CORE COMPETENCIES
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing creative, digital content and stories specifically for social media channels that achieve organizational goals. Experience creating content for other digital channels a plus.
• Strong project management skills and experience using project management software, preferably Asana.
• Strong writing skills and experience developing compelling content that drives engagement.
• Strategically creative with good visual design aesthetic.
• Ability to distill complex issues into simple messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
• Working knowledge of Photoshop and Canva.
• Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize workload and multi-task.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff.
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Collaborative work style to effectively work within cross functional teams to deliver high-quality digital communications on schedule.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of and experience with communicating social justice issues for awareness-building, advocacy, and/or fundraising.
