Summary of Duties
As an Adult Foster Home Licensor, you will:
Review and evaluates documents, including financial and health records, submitted by applicants for new Adult Foster Home (AFH) license and yearly renewals for existing AFHs.
Determine compliance with administrative rules and policies during on-site inspection of prospective homes for safety, compliance, and suitability in meeting client needs.
Determine provider and facility compliance with requirements for AFH licensing by review of documents and oral exam with provider, and other references as appropriate, for qualifications and limitations.
Review and determine if financial qualifications are met based on financial records of the provider and bank statements, etc.
Conduct periodic on-site monitoring and oversight to evaluate and ensure on-going compliance with program rules and policies.
Conduct unscheduled on-site monitoring visits to ensure corrections are made.
Provide technical assistance and coaching, verbally and in writing, regarding program and rule requirements as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
Four years experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations. Two of the four years must be above the technical support level.
Note: college-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years.

Experience interviewing people to gather confidential or sensitive information.
Experience communicating and problem solving during complex situations.
Experience communicating complex rules and guidelines to people with diverse education, language, and cultural backgrounds.
Experience working with people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
Experience with crisis intervention or conflict resolution techniques.

Working Conditions
You may be required to work a flexible work schedule. Your hours of work may vary from day to day and could include evenings and weekends under certain circumstances. Work schedule specifics will be determined by the hiring supervisor.

You may have repetitive motions, prolonged sitting/standing, and daily computer and technology use.

Will come in contact with animals, some which of may be dangerous.
May be exposed to communicable diseases, such as the flu virus, Covid-19, and MRSA.
You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
You may encounter stressful situations that require quick decision-making to ensure safety of yourself and others.
