We’re building the foundation of ChatGPT as a platform—enabling anyone to create AI-powered apps that users can interact with directly inside ChatGPT. With our new developer tools and a growing ecosystem, we’re unlocking a new wave of AI-native experiences for consumers and businesses.
Our mission is to make ChatGPT the most powerful place for developers to build and grow AI applications, and to ensure users have access to high-quality, trusted, and innovative apps. We’re still in the early days, and there’s tremendous opportunity ahead to shape the future of AI app development and distribution..
We’re looking for an experienced product manager to lead the third-party apps platform within ChatGPT. Your mission is to make ChatGPT the best place for developers to build, publish, and scale AI-powered apps—and to help users discover and benefit from them.
As the platform matures, you’ll initially own one or more pillars (e.g., developer tools or submission/review) with opportunities to expand into adjacent areas like discovery, analytics, or monetization foundations. You’ll partner closely with engineering, design, research, developer relations, growth, and policy to scale a thriving platform grounded in quality, trust, and developer success.

Own key surfaces and systems for developer onboarding, submission/review, discovery, trust, and business model foundations
Build intuitive and scalable developer tooling for app management, analytics, and iteration
Drive end-to-end platform health, including app quality, user trust, developer engagement, and sustainable outcomes
Partner with engineering, design, research, growth, and policy teams to bring world-class developer and consumer experiences to market
Deeply engage with the developer community to identify needs, validate product direction, and drive adoption
Have 10+ years of product management experience, including building platforms, developer tools, or marketplaces at scale
Have experience with AI/ML or LLM-powered products and understand how developers integrate models into applications
Are motivated by building zero-to-one product ecosystems and thrive in high-ambiguity environments
Excel at influencing cross-functional partners and driving alignment across engineering, research, GTM, and policy teams
Are excited to help developers succeed and unlock meaningful user and business value
Are energized by OpenAI’s mission and the opportunity to help shape how the world builds with AI
