Back End Engineer (Node/Java)
Skills
- 4+ years building backend services with Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong API design and backend architecture understanding
- Proficient with SQL and PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with Java-based backend development
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and workflows (GitHub Actions recommended)
- Practical experience deploying and operating services in AWS
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust backend services and REST/HTTP APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
- Collaborate with data scientists, frontend engineers, product, and UX to translate requirements into backend solutions
- Develop and maintain SQL/Postgres schemas, queries, and data access layers
- Implement and maintain end-to-end and integration tests for backend components
- Support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and automated deployment workflows
- Work within secure cloud environments (primarily AWS) to ensure scalability and compliance
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups; perform other duties as assigned
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required)
