OPCMIA Plasterers Recruit Apprentices

Job Title Plasterer Apprentice 

Location 1406 Blondell Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461 Program Sponsor Northeast District Council of the OPCMIA Apprenticeship Fund Recruitment Period May 19, 2025 through June 7, 2025 Description The Northeast District Council of the OPCMIA Apprenticeship Fund will be recruiting for five Plasterer Apprentices. Applications must be filled out in person at the OPCMIA Apprenticeship Fund Office between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Only 100 applications will be distributed, on a first-come, first-served basis. The recruitment period will end after 10 business days or once 100 applications have been issued, whichever comes first. 


Minimum Requirements


  • Must be at least 18 years old (proof required after selection and before enrollment)
  • Must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma (TASC or GED)
  • Must pass a physical agility test with at least 28 out of 35 possible points
  • Must have reliable transportation to job sites and required classes
  • Must pass a drug screening (sponsor will cover cost) after selection and before enrollment
  • Must provide DD Form 214 if applicable (for veterans) after selection and prior to enrollment Physical Agility Test Includes
  • Carrying various construction materials (weights from 52 lbs to 94 lbs) over approx. 75 feet
