Our flagship product, BLTN, is a game-changer. It transforms siloed law-enforcement bulletins and investigative intel into a searchable, AI-powered network that connects cities, counties, and states. Agencies use BLTN to create, share, and link critical information in real time—surfacing patterns that analysts and detectives often miss and accelerating case resolution across jurisdictions.
We’re growing fast, backed by top-tier investors, and expanding nationally with customers from Boston to Seattle to Orange County. Our mission is simple and profound: We give law enforcement the clarity and confidence to protect the public. Our technology turns information into awareness and awareness into action.
If you are driven to build category-defining technology that directly impacts community safety and the administration of justice—and you want to join a team on a hyper-growth trajectory—this is the place to do the most meaningful work of your career.
We are looking for individuals who deeply resonate with these themes and are motivated by a set of shared values. Candidates who demonstrate a strong alignment with our core values are a fundamental culture fit and are the people we are excited to work with.
Trust: Protect the trust, never break it
We respect the profession of law enforcement and operate with absolute fidelity to the rule of law. We protect the trust our customers place in us, and we never break it.
Duty: Mission and impact come first
Our customers took an oath to serve their communities. We serve them with the same duty-first mindset. Mission and impact come before business.
Urgency: Slow is smooth, smooth is fast
We move with urgency and method. Methodical doesn’t mean slow — slow is smooth, smooth is fast. We ship professional-grade software quickly and consistently.
The Senior Cloud Engineer designs, builds, and operates AWS infrastructure that powers containerized services on ECS, data workloads on Aurora and OpenSearch, and a large ecosystem of Lambda-based post-processing services. The role focuses on reliability, security, performance, and developer productivity across this AWS platform.
These are the decisive outcomes that define success in the first 12–18 months:
Build a World-Class Cloud Foundation
Establish a modern, production-grade cloud architecture using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Enable fast, safe, and repeatable infrastructure changes by embedding IaC into CI/CD pipelines
Improve deployment confidence, consistency, and velocity across environments
. Optimize and Control Cloud Spend
Identify and eliminate unnecessary cloud costs while maximizing performance
Leverage cost-efficient options such as Reserved Instances and Savings Plans
Evaluate and adopt managed AWS services where they reduce operational overhead and risk
Achieve full cost visibility through standardized tagging
Proactively control spend with budgets and automated alerts tied to financial targets
Strengthen Security and Compliance Posture
Validate and harden IAM permissions to ensure least-privilege access
Centralize logging to improve auditability, incident response, and visibility
Assess and improve network design to reduce attack surface and improve resilience
Future-Proof Performance and Scalability
Enhance observability with robust performance monitoring and on-call integration
Identify architectural gaps that could impact reliability or scale
Anticipate and address future growth constraints before they impact customers
5+ years in cloud engineering/DevOps with significant hands-on AWS experience.
Strong experience running containerized workloads on ECS (Fargate or EC2), including task definitions, service autoscaling, and load balancing.
Hands-on experience operating RDS Aurora, including backups, parameter tuning, and performance troubleshooting.
Practical experience managing and tuning OpenSearch/Elasticsearch clusters for search and analytics workloads.
Experience with distributed tracing, metrics, and logging for ECS, Lambda, Aurora, and OpenSearch (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray, Datadog, etc.).
Familiarity with security frameworks such as SOC 2, CJIS, NIST 800-53, and/or other compliance frameworks
Ability to conduct cloud security reviews and hardening
Backup, disaster recovery, and incident-response support
Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
Clear communication, especially in cross-functional settings
Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment
