Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking passionate a Co-op Research Associate to help us design assays for targeted protein degradation – a novel drug mechanism that has expanded the scope of disease treatments. The intern will gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in biochemical assay development of TR-FRET and AlphaLISA assays, in addition to skills in automation systems and high throughput screening.
You will work with an industry leader who will direct and mentor you on your project, as well as expose you to other drug discovery projects and involve you in the process of solving complex biological questions. You will be joining a diverse, thoughtful, fun and collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork and putting people first!
· Develop novel assays for the detection of glue-mediated ternary complex between E3 ligases and neosubstrates
· Optimize, validate, and scale-up of assays for high throughput screening (HTS)
· Perform biochemical and/or biophysical experiments to characterize molecular glues
· Analyze experimental data and clearly communicate experimental outcomes
· Keep a detailed record of all experiments in an electronic laboratory notebook
· Our preference is for a student currently in a Bachelor’s (junior or senior) or Master’s degree program in chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, biology, or a related life science
· Experience/understanding (hands-on research or classroom knowledge) in spectroscopic methods (e.g., TR-FRET, AlphaLISA) is required.
· Experience in additional biochemical or biophysical methods (e.g., SPR, DSF) is preferred.
· Previous experience in high throughput screening (384- or 1536-well) or automation systems is a plus, but not required.
· Enjoys working in a fast-paced, high energy team-based environment.
