Social media management, content development, and text messaging are both growing and in-demand fields in progressive politics. This job is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a growing team at Middle Seat and learn the ins & outs of running social media profiles and large-scale texting programs for Democratic candidates and organizations. Job Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the management of client social media accounts and texting programs: growing social followings, collecting SMS opt-ins, and raising money online.
    • Take the first pass at gathering data for reports, both internal and client-facing.

    • Create graphics and short-form videos for social media platforms.
    • Research issues relevant to our clients to identify salient topics and content for social media posts and graphics.
    • Manage texting production and develop other assets, such as mobile flows, landing pages, donation pages, and more.
    • Provide support to client leads on texting acquisition, including organizing materials, drafting copy, and updating vendors.
    • Draft fundraising copy for text messages.
    • Support the social & texting team on various projects.
    • Remain plugged in to political news and overall trends in progressive politics and social media – including trending templates, sounds, memes, and more.
    • Learn best practices for social media & text message fundraising, messaging campaigns, and platforms as they integrate into the entire digital program and into an organization’s mission.
    • Other responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications

    • Interest in professional social media management for political campaigns as well as online fundraising to help elect progressives
    • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of progressive politics

      • Ability to write and adapt copy for various social media platforms
