Manager, Client Service

Mercer Advisors is an independent, national fiduciary RIA serving tens of thousands of families by integrating financial planning, investment management, tax, estate, and insurance services. The Manager, Client Service will lead and develop the local client service team, drive productivity and service quality, handle operational escalations, and perform client service specialist duties to ensure an exceptional client experience.

Skills

  • Minimum 2 years financial industry experience and 2 years client-facing experience
  • Proficiency with financial planning software, Salesforce, and MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects
  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
  • Analytical and technical aptitude for account and operational topics

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, mentor and supervise Client Service Specialists, Coordinators, and Interns
  • Maximize team productivity through coaching, scheduling, and workflow prioritization
  • Perform Client Service Specialist responsibilities as needed
  • Act as local subject matter expert for complex account topics (e.g., 10b5-1 plans, pledged asset lines, account overlays)
  • Coordinate local projects (RMDs, tax loss harvesting, cash audits, new deposit tracking)
  • Handle HR system manager functions including timekeeping, PTO, and performance reviews
  • Contribute to local strategy as part of the senior leadership team and share best practices
  • Support Branch Operations and Learning & Development on projects and trainings
  • Facilitate team meetings, events, and a strong team culture

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance)
  • Equivalent experience considered
