Skills
- Proven ability to perform diagnostic ultrasound and routine radiographic procedures
- RDMS certification in required specialties
- Current CPR certification
- Experience assisting with biopsies and patient procedural preparation
- Familiarity with equipment calibration and basic maintenance
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate data entry
- Knowledge of infection control and safety policies (HIPAA, blood-borne pathogens)
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and routine ultrasound procedures in accordance with regulations, policies, and quality standards
- Perform routine radiographic procedures as required and adhere to safety protocols
- Prepare and schedule patients, obtain pertinent clinical history, and record significant data
- Assist physicians and specialized teams with biopsies and preparation for specific procedures
- Conduct daily calibration and maintenance checks on ultrasound and peripheral equipment and document results
- Maintain daily activity logs, procedure manuals, and compile monthly reports as required
- Enter all pertinent patient and procedure information into electronic systems while maintaining confidentiality
- Report equipment, staffing, and productivity issues to practice manager/physician and recommend personnel solutions
- Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with organizational safety policies
Education
- Completion of a one-year Ultrasound Technology program (required)
- RDMS certifications (Physics, Abdomen-Pelvis, OB-GYN) required
- CPR certification required
- Additional registry (OB/GYN, neonatal, or vascular) recommended
- ARRT Maryland license preferred
