Sr Manufacturing Engineer, Launch Powertrain
Skills
- Experience with powertrain equipment design and sustaining in automotive manufacturing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CATIA, and DELMIA for equipment design and layout.
- Strong knowledge of soldering, dispensing, torquing, and end-of-line testing processes.
- Experience with robotics, EOAT, vision systems, and basic machine I/O/PLC logic.
- Applied experience with 8D, Six Sigma, and DOE methodologies for problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and optimization of Powertrain manufacturing equipment and processes (soldering, dispensing, torquing, EOLT).
- Prepare and validate stations and equipment for Powertrain line launches.
- Collaborate with layout engineering, logistics, product engineering, and NPI to optimize line layouts and specifications.
- Drive improvements in First Pass Yield (FPY) and implement error-proofing systems.
- Use 3D modeling and simulations for robotics, end-of-arm tooling, pick-and-place, and vision system validation.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies (8D, Six Sigma, DOE) to resolve production issues and reduce variation.
- Manage consumables, scrap, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support equipment commissioning and provide leadership during validation and production ramp.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering or STEM field (or equivalent experience).
