Key Responsibilities:

KBR is seeking a Special Operations Warfare Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a multi-disciplinary team consisting of operational military and intelligence subject matter experts, operations research analysts, modelers, and software engineers who conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of emerging concepts for the Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency (DARPA) using advanced MS&A techniques and tools. The ideal candidate will:

• Be able to think creatively and offer grounded, out-of-the-box solutions when appropriate.
• Be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and with making or supporting decisions under uncertainty.
• Have expert knowledge of US military special operations systems, sensors, and employment concepts and of their contribution to the execution of kinetic and non-kinetic kill chains and kill webs.
• Assist with the identification and transformation of military or threat special operations doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures into products to inform the development of behaviors and decision structures in the simulation software.
• Contribute expertise during the conduct of studies for senior-level military decision makers, technology developers, and acquisition professionals.
• Contribute to the development of quality written, diagrammatic, and analytic deliverables.
• Develop and/or instantiate platform and system models, model behaviors, and model hierarchies in the designated modeling & simulation (M&S) environment as needed.
• Lead small teams or tasks in support of the broader overall effort.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience in US Special Operations employment and related architectures
• Direct experience developing special operations concepts of operation, concepts of support, and/or courses of action in support of Joint or Service Component Operational Planning efforts
• Thorough understanding of the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP)

Desired:

• Master’s Degree and at least 14 years of relevant experience in US Special Operations employment and related architectures
• Strong knowledge of offensive cyber operations
• US military Joint Qualified Officer designation
• Experience supporting analytical studies of military operations
• At least two (2) years of experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques and tools
• Recent M&S experience using AFSIM, NGTS, or similar mission-level combat modeling environments

Basic Compensation:

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
