Senior Product Manager, Payments

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Product Manager, Payments in the United States.

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead the strategy and execution of a global payments platform that serves multiple stakeholders, including customers, shoppers, retailers, and subscription members. You will optimize end-to-end payment flows, scale a resilient multi-PSP architecture, and drive measurable improvements in authorization rates, cost, and reliability. Working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, you will partner with engineering, finance, operations, compliance, and external payment providers. Your work will directly impact the customer experience, operational efficiency, and the overall success of the payments ecosystem. This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives in complex, global-scale challenges and enjoys delivering data-driven results.

  • Accountabilities:
  • Own the global payments roadmap and strategy, including authorization, routing, retries, tokenization, chargebacks/disputes, and refunds/partial captures, with clear KPIs for conversion, cost, latency, and reliability.
  • Design, scale, and continuously optimize a multi-PSP platform, implementing smart routing, failover, experimentation frameworks, and performance monitoring.
  • Expand payment methods domestically and internationally, including wallets, local payment options, EBT SNAP, HSA/FSA, and emerging methods, ensuring compliance with regional regulations and card network rules.
  • Partner with engineering teams to define PRDs, scope systems, manage delivery timelines, and uphold high standards for security, availability, and PCI compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams handling order management, loyalty, pricing, fraud, subscriptions, and shopper payouts to ensure seamless end-to-end payments flows.
  • Manage external relationships with PSPs and card networks, driving performance reviews, negotiating terms, running vendor evaluations, and ensuring SLAs and compliance are consistently met.

  • Requirements:
  • 6+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years focused on payments, e-commerce, or financial platform products.
  • Proven track record optimizing payment stacks at scale, including improving authorization rates, reducing processing costs, and integrating or scaling multi-PSP platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with core payments capabilities: routing/retries, tokenization/vaulting, 3DS/payer authentication, chargebacks/disputes, refunds/partial captures.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with SQL and other analytics tools to define KPIs, diagnose issues, and run A/B tests or holdouts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, legal, and compliance teams, and externally with PSPs and card networks.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS, card network rules, and regional payments regulations and privacy standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
  • Preferred: experience building for multi-sided marketplaces, managing PSP/vendor relationships, supporting payouts/disbursements, and familiarity with EBT SNAP, HSA/FSA, BNPL, or other local payment methods. Advanced degrees or MBA a plus.

  • Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary in line with candidate location, plus equity grants.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Flexible work options under a remote-first “Flex First” policy.
  • Retirement savings plan with company contributions.
  • Generous holiday, vacation, and parental leave policies.
  • Wellness, technology, and ergonomic reimbursements.
  • Opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and team events.
