Senior Engineer, Backend Identity

This role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and scale critical backend identity services that power a high-performance, AI-driven platform impacting millions of users. You will work on cutting-edge cloud services, middleware, and identity solutions, ensuring secure, reliable, and fault-tolerant operations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Security, you will lead key projects, influence best practices, and mentor other engineers. The position allows you to work in a fully remote environment while contributing to a platform that transforms healthcare and digital user experiences at scale.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend identity services and middleware using Go, Node.js, and cloud technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions, including documentation of architectural decisions (ADRs).
• Uphold code quality standards through code reviews, automated testing, and performance monitoring.
• Lead complex projects from discovery to delivery, including requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering growth and development.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support operational stability of identity services.

• 5+ years of backend development experience in cloud-based, scalable systems.
• Strong experience building fault-tolerant services and writing high-quality, testable code.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Node.js and familiarity with MongoDB, Auth0, Github, and GCP.
• Solid understanding of web APIs, identity protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect, FIDO), and cryptographic fundamentals.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code pipelines and deployment automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, technical judgment, and the ability to balance expediency and maintainability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
• Bonus: prior experience in healthcare technology or AI-driven platforms.
