Senior DevOps Engineer (MAryland)

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and securing cloud-based solutions that support large-scale healthcare systems. You will focus on integrating security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with federal standards. Working within a high-impact AWS environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient solutions. Your expertise will directly influence the operational efficiency, reliability, and safety of critical applications and data platforms. Accountabilities:

·         Design, build, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for applications and infrastructure deployment.

·         Integrate security controls and tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) throughout the software development lifecycle.

·         Manage and secure AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Terragrunt).

·         Implement and maintain security for containerized applications using Docker.

·         Collaborate with development teams (Java, Python, Django) to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.

·         Automate security monitoring, logging, and incident response procedures.

·         Ensure systems meet federal compliance standards, including FISMA, NIST, and CMS-specific requirements.

·         Support the security of data platforms and services, such as Databricks and Redshift.

·         Foster a culture of security awareness and best practices across cross-functional teams.

·         Minimum 8 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or Security Engineering roles.

·         Proven hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud security principles.

·         Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Terragrunt).

·         Demonstrated experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.

·         Solid understanding of containerization technologies and Docker security.

·         Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python or Bash).

·         U.S. citizen or Green Card holder able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field preferred, but 10+ years of IT experience can substitute.

Desired Qualifications:

·         Prior experience supporting federal agencies, particularly CMS.

·         Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST).

·         Experience with data platforms (Databricks, Redshift) and web application security.

·         Relevant industry certifications (AWS Certified Security Specialty, CISSP, GSEC).

·         Expertise in IAM, security groups, network security, and security scanning tools (Nessus, BurpSuite, OWASP).

·         Competitive salary range: $106,300 – $136,600.
