This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer passionate about database infrastructure, reliability, and observability. As a Senior Data Reliability Engineer, you'll work closely with development teams to optimize and maintain robust, scalable database systems using technologies like PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud. You’ll take ownership of the entire data infrastructure, drive automation, build internal tooling, and ensure uptime and performance across environments. Accountabilities:

• Own and manage all aspects of the organization’s relational and non-relational database infrastructure
• Develop tools and automation that enhance the reliability, scalability, and observability of data systems
• Support a wide range of technologies including PostgreSQL, Redis, PgBouncer, Datadog, and Google Cloud Platform
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve database usage, modeling, queries, and instrumentation
• Build and maintain self-service database tooling using Kubernetes, Helm, and custom operators
• Partner with internal teams to ensure successful adoption of best practices across the engineering organization
• Proactively ensure high system uptime and play a critical role in incident response and recovery

• Deep expertise in managing production database environments, especially PostgreSQL
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (particularly Google Cloud Platform) and distributed systems
• Experience with Helm, Kubernetes, and building internal developer tools
• Strong knowledge of observability and reliability engineering principles
• Demonstrated success in optimizing databases and supporting development teams at scale
• Effective communicator and collaborator with a passion for sharing knowledge and improving processes
• Proven ability to lead strategic technical projects
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; immigration sponsorship is not available
• Candidates must reside in eligible U.S. states (excludes AK, AL, DE, HI, ID, MT, ND, SD, NE, IA, WV, RI)

• Competitive base salary based on location:
• Tier 1 (e.g., NYC, SF): $178,560 – $267,840 USD
• Tier 2 (e.g., Austin, Boston): $163,680 – $245,520 USD
• Tier 3 (all other locations): $148,800 – $223,200 USD
