Director of Communications

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Communications in the United States.

The Director of Communications will lead the development and execution of multi-channel communication strategies to engage diverse audiences and drive organizational growth. This role oversees content creation, digital and social media initiatives, and constituency engagement, ensuring cohesive messaging across all platforms. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing strategic guidance, managing communications staff, and measuring campaign effectiveness. This position emphasizes innovative storytelling, data-driven decision-making, and audience growth strategies while fostering a collaborative, mission-driven work environment. Occasional domestic and international travel is required to support organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.


  • Accountabilities:
  • Lead the communications team, mentoring and coordinating staff to ensure high-quality output and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and manage content strategy, digital and social media campaigns, and online properties to engage key audiences.
  • Plan and execute integrated campaigns across owned, earned, paid, and organic channels, including email, social media, and influencer partnerships.
  • Establish KPIs, track campaign performance, and optimize strategies based on data insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align communications efforts with organizational initiatives and events.
  • Maintain compliance with brand standards, accessibility, and digital best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for digital and communications projects, including oversight of external vendors or creators as needed.

  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in communications or marketing, with 2–4 years leading teams and cross-functional campaigns.
  • Proven ability to grow audiences and manage multi-channel campaigns across social, digital, and earned media.
  • Platform fluency: Meta, TikTok, X, and strong short-form video instincts.
  • Experience with email/CRM systems (Salesforce/Pardot preferred), CMS platforms (WordPress), and social scheduling tools.
  • Excellent writing, editing, project management, and on-camera or directing skills.
  • Familiarity with persona development, content journey mapping, PR, podcast distribution, and live event amplification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and collaborative leadership style.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (10–20%), and eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
