AVP, Technology – PayPal Savings Technology Lead

This role provides a unique opportunity to lead technology initiatives supporting a major savings program within a fast-paced financial environment. You will oversee solution architecture, governance, and technical delivery while collaborating across cross-functional and cross-client teams. The position emphasizes strategic oversight, risk management, and program execution, ensuring compliance with technology standards and operational requirements. You will act as a technical point of contact, resolving complex issues and guiding initiatives from design to production. The role offers the chance to work both remotely and on-site as needed, while influencing critical technology decisions and driving process improvements.

• Accountabilities
• Lead the implementation of deposit product features, coordinating with stakeholders including product, technology, and leadership teams.
• Provide technical oversight across all phases of the SDLC, including requirements, architecture, build, testing, QA, and production deployment.
• Manage relationships with internal and external teams, ensuring smooth program execution and alignment with governance standards.
• Analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Own technology governance activities, including risk assessment, control effectiveness, and documentation of processes.
• Act as primary liaison for internal and external audits, managing documentation and driving resolution of findings.
• Participate in issue management processes and perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

• Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of IT experience, or High School diploma with 8+ years of IT experience.
• Prior experience as a technical lead, project, or program manager delivering mission-critical projects on time and within budget.
• Strong collaboration skills with ability to build relationships across IT and business stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex topics and influence outcomes.
• Experience in fast-paced environments with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred experience in banking/FinTech, retail deposits, regulatory or risk management, and handling sensitive data.
• Knowledge of SAS/SQL or similar analytical tools, QA leadership, client/partner management, and strategic decision-making in technology projects.
