Audience Marketing Manager - Defense

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead marketing initiatives targeting defense and federal channels. The Audience Marketing Manager will drive audience-specific strategies, manage end-to-end marketing execution, and optimize campaigns to generate demand and engagement. The position involves market research, content creation, account-based marketing (ABM), and collaboration with sales and product teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating the defense industry landscape, developing high-impact marketing campaigns, and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance customer engagement and business growth. This role is remote-friendly and provides exposure to cutting-edge defense technologies and procurement environments.


  • Accountabilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to understand defense industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
  • Develop and manage clear product positioning and messaging tailored to defense audiences across multiple platforms and content formats.
  • Design and implement demand generation campaigns to drive leads, conversions, and ROI.
  • Lead ABM initiatives, manage lead pipelines, and ensure alignment with sales objectives.
  • Define and optimize Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP), buyer personas, and the customer journey to maximize engagement.
  • Develop and execute partner marketing strategies, fostering collaborative opportunities with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure marketing initiatives align with business goals and client requirements.

  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of proven experience managing comprehensive marketing strategies for technology companies, preferably within the defense industry.
  • Strong expertise in digital marketing, content creation, and multi-channel campaign execution.
  • Experience working with government agencies or defense contractors.
  • Knowledge of military technology, defense products, and federal procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required and travel up to 10%.
  • Proactive, results-oriented mindset with strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with defense industry standards, regulations, and compliance (e.g., ITAR, EAR, FAR/DFARS, NIST 800-171).
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar marketing automation tools.
  • Experience managing remote marketing teams.
  • Strong understanding of ethical marketing practices in defense procurement.
