SharePoint Administrator
Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA and is seeking a SharePoint Administrator. This is a full-time onsite position based in the Portsmouth, VA area.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and maintain SharePoint Server (2016/2019) environments, including:
- Web applications, site collections, content databases, and service applications.
- Manage user permissions, Active Directory group integration, and SharePoint security policies.
- Implement and maintain governance policies, backup and recovery plans, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Administer and optimize Central Administration, Search Service Application, User Profile Service, and Managed Metadata Services.
- Support and manage migrations between SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online using tools such as: SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT), ShareGate, or Metalogix.
- System Maintenance & Monitoring including performing routine health checks, apply patches, and service packs to maintain system stability
- Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and respond to system alerts or issues affecting SharePoint availability or performance.
- Investigate and resolve SharePoint errors, performance bottlenecks, and service disruptions.
- Provide tier 2/3 support to end users and site owners for SharePoint issues.
- maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Deploy and configure custom or third-party SharePoint solutions, features, and web parts.
- Assist with migrations or upgrades between SharePoint versions or from older to newer environments.
- Minimum of four (7) years of experience in SharePoint Server administration, with at least three (3) years of specialized experience managing, configuring, and supporting SharePoint On-Premises environments.
- Must have a bachelor's degree in an IT or related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering) or Level II Certification (Security+ or better) AND four (4) years of relevant experience as described above
- Must have a minimum of at least an ACTIVE Top Secret Clearance.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator, and CompTIA Security+ are desired.
