Physician - Clinical Trials - MD/DO

Headlands Research is a rapidly growing network of advanced clinical trial sites focused on expanding access to clinical research in underserved communities. We are seeking an experienced MD/DO to serve as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator to lead and grow a new clinical research site in the Little Rock area, with flexible part- or full-time scheduling available.

Skills

  • Previous experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator on clinical trials
  • Active, unencumbered MD or DO medical license in Arkansas
  • Board-certified or board-eligible status
  • Knowledge of GCP, IRB processes, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple studies concurrently
  • Familiarity with participant recruitment and retention strategies

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee clinical trials at the Little Rock site, ensuring protocol adherence and participant safety.
  • Obtain and maintain IRB approvals and manage protocol modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to site staff including coordinators and research assistants.
  • Communicate with sponsors, monitors, regulators, and network leadership.
  • Oversee informed consent processes and ongoing subject safety monitoring.
  • Participate in investigator meetings and educational initiatives.

Education

  • MD or DO degree required
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in relevant specialty
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Arkansas
