Interconnection Program Manager

Hanwha Renewables, part of the global Hanwha Group, develops, builds and operates utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America. The Interconnection Program Manager will provide interconnection tariff administration and program management support for solar PV and energy storage development and M&A projects, coordinating with ISOs/RTOs, utilities, internal development, engineering and commercial teams to keep projects on schedule and compliant with tariff requirements.

Skills

  • Proven experience with interconnection administration, utility tariffs, and ISO/RTO business practices
  • Working knowledge of interconnection queue processes and study phases
  • Program and project management skills for development pipelines
  • Ability to coordinate financial submission processes with accounting and procurement
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a cross-functional environment
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to administrative detail

Responsibilities

  • Lead interconnection tariff administrative activities and paperwork to support greenfield and M&A development projects
  • Liaise regularly with utility and ISO/RTO interconnection specialists to manage administrative queue activities
  • Track interconnection program tasks, deliverables and deadlines to ensure utility milestones are met on time and cost-effectively
  • Provide coordinates and administrative support for FCITC studies and POI evaluations
  • Support Interconnection and Land Development teams during development and engineering phases
  • Coordinate interconnection applications and payments with Accounting, Finance and Procurement (PPRCs, circle approval, letters of credit, cash payment tracking)
  • Assist Development team in preparing proposal documents for utility RFP responses
  • Create and distribute regular interconnection status reports and monitor engineering milestones for weekly development meetings
  • Identify and propose process improvements to enhance interconnection administration and quality
  • Evaluate transmission and interconnection program costs, timelines, queues and tariffs; provide strategic guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with IPEs and DEs to meet interconnection milestones and ensure compliance with ISO/utility tariff and LGIP rules

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field is required
  • Relevant coursework or certifications in power systems, energy markets, or project management are a plus
