Skills
- Proven experience designing and documenting scalable architectures for GitLab or similar DevOps platforms
- Hands-on with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience planning and executing migrations to GitLab (data integrity, cutover, validation)
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, SCM, DevOps/DevSecOps practices and tooling
- Familiarity with cloud providers and hybrid on‑prem/cloud deployments
- Excellent communication, customer-facing advisory, and technical discovery skills
- Ability to lead distributed teams and work autonomously in a remote, asynchronous environment
- Experience creating reusable delivery artifacts and technical runbooks
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, design and end-to-end architecture for enterprise GitLab implementations across on-premises and cloud environments
- Create high-level designs, migration plans, cutover/validation strategies, and implementation roadmaps aligned to GitLab reference architectures
- Deliver and oversee deployments using Terraform, Ansible and the GitLab Environment Toolkit
- Manage and mentor cross-functional delivery teams including Professional Services engineers, partner consultants, and customer technical leads
- Coordinate technical activities across stakeholders and maintain quality, schedule, and risk controls under Statements of Work
- Drive DevSecOps and AI-assisted adoption (GitLab Flow, CI/CD best practices, GitLab Duo capabilities) with customers
- Produce reusable technical collateral, runbooks, delivery kits, and enablement content for the Professional Services organization
- Support hiring and partner enablement by vetting technical candidates and providing technical training sessions
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Continued professional development in DevOps, cloud, or relevant technical certifications preferred
