Skills
- Proven engineering leadership managing and growing software teams.
- Strong software engineering foundation with experience assessing technical work and guiding architecture.
- Experience delivering multi-stream initiatives with cross-functional partners (Product, Design, Business).
- Familiarity with modern cloud-based stacks and microservice architectures, preferably Azure or equivalent.
- Comfortable with Agile practices, CI/CD, code review processes, and modern developer tooling.
Responsibilities
- Lead two Agile engineering teams through planning, execution, and delivery across multiple product streams and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage talent via coaching, performance reviews, growth plans, and empathic, accountable feedback.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and business stakeholders to scope work, balance tradeoffs, and translate requirements.
- Contribute hands-on as a player-coach: review PRs, write code when needed, and guide architecture and system design.
- Champion engineering standards, modern dev tools (including AI-assisted tools), and continuous improvement in processes.
- Remove blockers, set measurable goals, and ensure teams connect technical work to business impact for small business customers.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
- Open to nontraditional backgrounds (bootcamps, self-taught, career changers) with demonstrated engineering and leadership experience.
