Position Overview

Under the direction of the Compliance Officer, the Compliance Specialist supports the Compliance Management Program by overseeing the daily functions of the following: BAI learning management system; Bankers’ Compliance Group training requests; Compilation, validation and reporting of HMDA data; Validation of CRA Data; Audit function; Flood monitoring; Fair Lending data analysis; And other duties as assigned

Daily management of the on-line training system BVS, includes uploading of custom courses and editing of BVS courses to ensure appropriate alignment with the Bank’s products and processes, adding training assignments each month, and quarterly reporting for the Compliance Committee. 

HMDA management will include identification of HMDA reportable loans, validation of data, including coordination of the second review process and annual reporting. 

This position will support other responsibilities of the department including Fair Lending data analysis using Centrax, the Audit function, Compliance Committee meetings and Compliance Monitoring.

The position may also provide support to the Bank’s CRA Officer related to compiling, analyzing and documenting the Bank’s CRA lending. 

Essential Job Functions

• Demonstrates basic knowledge of regulations, internal policies and procedures
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Bank’s learning management system, BVS Performance Solutions
• Attends continuing education training, including webinars, seminars, conferences and/or schools (may require travel to off-site locations)
• Other additional compliance responsibilities as needed or directed

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is in regular communication, is required to use various tools or objects, and have the mobility to move about the office. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position that regularly requires 40 hours per week.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Preferred Education and Experience

• At least two year’s experience with a financial institution.
