Skills
- Python programming with libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and FastAPI.
- Experience with ETL tools like Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, or Talend.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms and their data services.
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Version control experience using Git.
- Knowledge of weather and climate datasets and tooling such as Copernicus, Xarray, Zarr, and NetCDF.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines using Python.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources into the data platform.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and meteorologists to meet data needs.
- Monitor and optimize pipeline performance to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Implement data validation and error-handling mechanisms.
- Work with cloud data storage and processing solutions such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve data engineering.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
