Dewberry is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Building and Facility Structures Group in our New York City office. Building and Facility Structures Group is a team of more than 20 structural engineers who perform Structural Design and/or Design Management on a wide variety of projects including public and private buildings, structural evaluations, structural repairs, structural upgrades, waterfront structures, flood resiliency, and transit and rail facilities.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of senior engineers, perform modeling, analysis, calculations and design for a wide variety of building/facility types of structures.
• Provide sketches, drawings, and calculation reports.
• Perform site visits and provide field investigation reports.
• Review shop drawings and response to RFIs from contractor.
• Coordinate design with other engineers and staff internally and externally.
• Attend meetings with client, contractor or other design partners.
• Coordinate structural design with work of other disciplines.
• Assist in Project Management activities.
• Assist in pursuing new projects and writing proposals.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with concentration on Structural Engineering.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in the area of structural design.
• EIT Certificate is required.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Familiar with structural analysis/design software (such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro, etc.).
• Familiar with structural codes (ASCE7, ACI, AISC, etc.)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines is essential.
• Must be a self-motivated with initiative, drive and determination.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required.
• A clean driving record is required.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $87,000-$126,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
