Job Summary: The Application System Analyst/Programmer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that support USASOC's mission. This position requires a strong focus on the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and planning to implementation and maintenance. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that applications meet business requirements and are optimized for performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze user requirements and design applications that effectively meet business needs.
- Develop, test, and implement software solutions according to industry best practices and coding standards.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications by creating and executing updates, configuration changes, and bug fixes.
- Utilize data modeling and automation techniques to improve application performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, quality assurance, and end-users, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Document all development processes, including code, user guides, and technical specifications.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for applications; resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the application solutions are innovative and competitive.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software development/analysis; knowledge of full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, and experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and experience in writing complex queries.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with application development frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Knowledge of software testing tools and practices.
- Certifications related to software development or analysis are a plus.
