Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid)
The Role
As a Footwear Product Engineer I, you will be at the forefront of creating innovative and high-quality footwear products. You will lead low complexity projects from brief to final production, ensuring that quality, design intent, and functionality are maintained. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn and master the craft of shoemaking while assisting senior engineers in optimizing fit, comfort, and performance. Your Impact
Review tech packages/revisions before being sent to the development center.
Lead low complexity projects from brief, design, and prototyping through final production.
Learn and master the craft of shoemaking.
Assist senior engineers in all engineering workstreams aimed at optimizing fit, comfort, and performance.
Collect and analyze test data to improve product fit, aesthetic, performance, and durability.
Apply best practices during development to ensure products are manufacturable.
Review technical drawings, lab tests, patterns, and components to identify issues with fit, aesthetics, and performance.
Ensure product readiness from fit, aesthetic, and performance perspectives at RTB.
Partner with senior engineers to drive Footwear product initiatives for HOKA.
Partner with development, testing, and design teams to investigate issues arising from testing.
Collaborate with the Asia team to creatively solve issues with consistency in commercialization and mass production in mind.
Lead the review and feedback process of commercialization shoes to ensure product quality and consistency in mass production.
Strive for continuous improvement in production through periodic examination of defective returns.
Proactively seek, evaluate, and monitor new technologies relevant to the industry.
Travel to development factories and trade shows as necessary.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
3+ years’ experience in the footwear industry.
General understanding of the manufacturing of footwear.
Good understanding of footwear materials.
Ability to lead and manage multiple projects.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Creative problem-solving skills and outside-the-box thinking.
Ability to read and understand 2D/3D drawings.
